Solutions’ special projects
Evelyn Old Field Unit
Designed and tailored a programme of business support to help refugee
community organisations (RCOs) to develop income generation services.
Advised and guided management committees, staff and volunteers how to
analyse a business idea to access the viability and sustainability of
a market
and business opportunity.
The London Borough of Hounslow Housing and Community Services Department
Researched and prepared an outline review and options appraisal report
for an independent or arms-length agency to encourage and support social
enterprises providing employment opportunities for vulnerable adults across
all disabilities, building on an existing “umbrella” social
enterprise developed within the Council.
North East London Strategic Health Authority
Carried out research and wrote a feasibility study to assess the viability
of a social enterprise to support adult social care services. We produced
a business plan with social and commercial objectives to develop a Community
Interest Company.
Estate Skills Partnership
Designed, developed and delivered social enterprise training programmes
for and to hard to reach residents at risk of social exclusion. The programme
was underpinned with basic skills improvement.
Richmond in Business
Co-ordinated the launch of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames
local business partnership. The partnership was between RIB and Environmental
protection and customer services. Invited 62 delegates form local food
and
hospitality business. This event led to the start of a new food safety
network.
Supplementary Schools Support Service - African Schools Association
Designed, developed and delivered business and management development
training programmes to supplementary schools leaders in London. Course
units focused on business planning, financial forecasting, marketing and
governance.
The Camden Society
Carried out research to analyse the viability of ideas and market opportunities
for special needs employment project setting up commercial ventures.
Social Firms UK - Social Firms South East
Carried out research to investigate the viability of ideas for starting
social firms in different markets and wrote a range of feasibility studies
reports. For instance, a restaurant business, a café, an outside
catering service, a door-to-door transport provision, Disability Discrimination
trainers and a gardening service.
Deptford and New cross Credit Union
Worked in partnership with the Credit Union and the Consumer Advice Bureau
to
deliver a customised business course. Designed, developed and delivered
the
Credit Union Business and Money Management course underpinned with a basic
skills training programme.
